I LOVE Poe, but Awakenings doesn't have the perfect partner for Poe. I evaluated a couple options for Poe, and in my opinion there are only two ways to run Poe:
- Poe-HiredGun-HiredGun
- ePoe-eRey
I prefer to have two Poe die and 4 total character die, so I started with this configuration. Note: I think the Poe-HG-HG is viable with Cunning but that slows down the aggression in this deck.
With ePoe-eRey, my strategy is to load the deck with aggressive Upgrades and Supports that I can get rid of to deal damage using Poe's special. A couple strategic options:
- Roll Poe in - if you get special, you can resolve and drop Mind Probe which could deal 4-5 damage to opponent on first turn. You can use Hit and Run, roll Poe, and resolve before your opponent even has a turn.
I mulligan for Mind Probe and Datapads.
The Datapad special is deadly with Poe, because you can use the Datapad special to turn Poe's die to a special and resolve immediately. The key is simply having enough powerful upgrades in your hand.
I add 2 Dodge cards to play against Range decks. Against Melee decks, I look to put Rey's Staff on Rey, and I roll Rey out first. I then use Force Misdirection to mitigate Melee damage.
Feedback and Suggestions are welcome!
