Kragan seemed like a super solid character with his crazy die and ability to steal a resource, but pairing him with Maul is just gross. No matter who your opponent targets first you have solid damage dice for the entire game. You can really go about this deck in 2 ways

1. If DM isn’t an issue then getting a pirate ship down early is stupid good. The ability to roll in to remove a damage die to then activate Kragan to steal a resource is obnoxious. I put in 4 money cards to help pay for the ship but it’s not a must have round 1. Playing merchant freighter also helps with resources and if you can play raiding party it speeds up the process, but I have found it to be a bit underwhelming. Maybe if more of my opponents also ran merchant freighter it would feel better.

2. If you’re concerned about DM you can just focus on upgrades and maybe a late game pirate ship. Getting Nimans early is huge especially to blank a damage side to then roll in Kragan for a resource. Also overwriting for defense to blank or for turning one of your die to a 3for1 is big.

   This deck seems to work well because your opponent has to think of so many things. You have the pirate ship to remove damage, Kragan to steal a resource, if they remove a Maul die you can remove one of theirs, while also having the ability to roll insane amounts of damage. With so many things going on it’s easy to capitalize on their mistakes.

   I put in Bendu’s Lair to help with forsaken but also to add extra actions for myself. I don’t want to pass to wait for Kragans ability so having more actions to take, but still benefit myself seemed better. Truce is amazing because your opponent might try to spend money early, but it feels so dirty to truce – activate Kragan to steal that money back.
