Book 1394

Another mill deck. Both Padme and Rey provide deck and hand disruption results. The strategy is very straightforward:

1.) Discard as many cards from your opponent's deck and hand as humanly possible.

2.) Try not to die before doing the above. Don't bother dealing damage.

So the deck is split down the middle really: A. discard effects and B. defensive cards.

Your primary means of mill will be Padme, with Rey shoring up as a contingency. But you do have some solid redundancies:

*Patience: regardless of the result, just pitch your dice and eat their deck.

*Jedi Council: a nice steady support option that you can also use on yourself in a pinch.

You also have Datapad and Cunning to guarantee use of Padme's ability. The two copies of Comlink is a nice dual-use tool, esp. when placed on Rey.

A number of your dice have discard results: Padme, Rey, Force Protection, and Cunning. At the end of the game, you will be committed to cleaning out their hand and staying alive.

Your defenses are many and come in basically two varieties: shield-generation and die removal/manipulation.

Jedi Robes, Force Protection, Hunker Down, and Diplomatic Immunity keep the ladies safe. You also have some nice synergies with Rey:

1.) Hunker Down and take another action.

2.) Jedi Robes for a shield or two and take another action, overwriting the robes for another upgrade, and take yet another action.

The single Second Chance is there juuuuuust in case, as surely Rey will perish at some point.

The other half of your defenses mess with dice. Negotiate, Electroshock, Use The Force, Infiltrate, and Unpredictable all do this nicely. The one Deflect is a yolo.

Again, we have some nice synergy with Rey and Infiltrate in a pinch--upgrade her and roll with the hopes of hitting the special.

Lastly, I am sure someone will mention that I could play a single Rey and play an non-unique character instead. Since we are not concerned with dealing damage, this just feels inferior. Further, I want equitable activations, and with 2 Rey dice, I get that more easily.

Enjoy!
