Why Han over Chopper?
I'm basically a meta-slave, so I'm going to play what I perceived as the best deck in the meta. I was on Satine Droids since SoH dropped and had full intention on playing them at worlds. After C3PO got errata'd, the first deck I went to toy with was Han Droids, which was weird b/c I never really played with the deck prior to the errata. Then, I heard all the rumblings that Satine and Han versions were dead and Chopper is supreme. I felt that Han had the best way to capitalize on a killer gun-package (Handheld/Rex/Chewie) along with being the best 'Ewok Ambush' and 'Flee the Scene' deck. Only started to seriously consider them once I saw Destiny Council had some success (though the build looked clunky) as well as others at various early primes.

Overall, I'm happy with how the deck performed; however it really gets you into some awkward spots. The biggest glaring weakness is that you only start with 2 damage dealing dice and could get you down to 1 if you decide to use control via R2 die in the 1st round. Few other weakness I noticed throughout my games were I was prone to getting Forsaken, get destroyed by Probe (as I normally have to get my dice cards out fast), and my lack of ability to do 4 damage without over-killing (essentially wasting value). My build is a bit different compared to others but I found that other Han Droid decks were too dependent on Mean Streets (hence lower amount of 2-cost blowout mitigation) or needing to activate before putting down an upgrade (hence the 4 supports)

WORLDS:

Day 1B Swiss (Finished 10th at 6-2):

Round 1 vs eBoussh/eBail/DD (WIN, 1-0):

Round 1 was pretty interesting as my opponent played around a phantom EP (probably the right call b/c it would of been a blow out otherwise) but I managed to keep him 1 dollar short for his Admiral 1st rd untap. I put in 5 damage in Boussh round 1. In round 2, I got a quick kill on my 2nd action. Unfortunately, my opponent just didn't see it. He had the ability to move some damage before the death blow but didn't do it.

Round 2 vs eRey3/eKylo3/TT (WIN, 2-0):

My opponent had a pretty good start overall and could of easily threaten a Rd-1 droid kill; however greed got the better of her as she rolled a 2 melee on a Dagger and a special on Kylo. She wanted to maximize Kylos die, but rolled into a 2 melee for a game saving easy pickings. I manage to swing some damage into Kylo, followed by an instigate/ewok ambush speed kill at the start of round 2. My opponent scoop.

Round 3 vs eRey3/eKylo3/TT (WIN, 3-0)

This game wasn't really memorable; however I do recall it was one of my harder games. I had the game decently controlled but my opponent definitely kept me in line with tight play. Once I weathered the kill Kylo storm, I was able to speed damage in, mean streets out. I wish I remember more of this game, b/c I recall it being a pretty good back and forth.

Round 4 vs e4LOM/GG/SM (WIN, 4-0)

Big support 4 LOM decks always seems to somewhat struggle with money generation at times so my plan was to disrupt/disrupt/disrupt. Eventually I got a fickle out and ended up disrupting some more. I basically burned R2's ability to constantly keep him off money. He ended up getting a Fist out via Delve in Round 3 but at that point, my droids were relatively healthy and he was down a 4LOM. Nasty game for my opponent and his only loss of the day.

Round 5 vs eJango/Palp/LM (LOSS, 4-1)

This game was pretty close in general, but I feel as the game progressed I Iost a lot of momentum. I oddly found mostly indirect damage at first, so it made sense to just get Jango off the table. It did come down to one final roll, even though my odds were bad, I rolled to only be a damage short.

Round 6 vs ePalp/eMotti (WIN, 5-1)

An early TBD onto Motti, kind of set the tone in this game. Eventually I managed to put 3 more in Motti at the end of Rd1. I quick killed Motti at the start of Rd2 (via Rex blaster on R2) and always made sure my opponent couldn't find the extra dollar to override for an admiral up. He did have a rolling chance twice to find a buck, but couldn't hit the low percentage odds. This definitely could of gone the other way if he hit a resource side during those rerolls.

Round 7 vs. Chopper droids w/ FC (WIN, 6-1)

I started the game controlling Chopper's money, as no one expects Han Droids to play control. Meanwhile, my opponents dice just didn't cooperate w/ him -- either bad rolls or just too good rolls that they were picked. It was just a very slow (weird) grind and I got the first droid kill. That's all that was needed.

Round 8 vs. Chopper droids w/ FC (LOSS, 6-2)

The no-stress game that I essentially kind of punted. I was pretty laxed going into it and had a very good looking board state (Rex and Chewie Blaster w/ the BF control just prior to Rd-3); however my opponent found some money at the end of round 2 to Convergence my Rex's blaster. After that, I was behind b/c I couldn't find a speed card to get me out of the jam. Oh well.

Pretty happy that I made Day 2, but losing the last game was kind of crushing until I found out my rounds 3-8 opponents all made Day 2. Pretty tough schedule overall and it showed as my SOS was the 2nd best of the x-2s in 1B swiss.

TOP 64 vs. eAphra/GG/SM (WIN 2-0)

This guy had an interesting build with no bubble shields and extremely light on mitigation. So light that I was comfortable leaving my dice in the pool longer than then I should. I controlled him money and got timely kills. First game was a blowout; meanwhile the 2nd game was a bit more interesting.

TOP 32 vs Aphra/eGG/SM (LOSS 1-2)

This game was on stream (Dice of Failure) so I won't mention much. My opponent was very good and played extremely well. I will say his probes, messenger, and motive hits were just fire throughout the 3 games. I did have 2 misplays: (1) didn't see a shield tucked behind a die so I thought I killed a character on a speed card (luckily it didn't matter); and (2) playing a fickle when I didn't have to, just to try to bait out the forsaken (and forgetting about DM!). The dollar and the card plus the extra ping damage dealt by 000 from DM was all relevant.

Illinois Prime 1 (Roselle -- 33 players) -- Finished 2nd in Swiss at 5-1

Given my semi-success with Han Droids at Worlds, I'd figure I can do the same in a smaller field where the competition is thinner than Worlds. I decided to make 1 small change and add Dismantle over 1x Fickle Mercenaries -- mostly to help me with vs Aphra. Worlds showed me that maybe I'm not completely ready for Aphra.

Round 1 vs eMaul/Watto/Ret (WIN, 1-0):

A friend from local for the first round, go figure. This one was wicked too b/c I literally built the deck for him that morning as he didn't have some of the cards for yellow Maul. Facing this deck is always scary b/c it's so random that I could be in a hole very quickly. Luckily, in the game's first round I managed to disrupt his money and Entangle both Maul dice. I set up my board for a Rd-3 early Maul kill.

Round 2 vs e4-LOM/GG/SM (WIN, 2-0):

Just my luck, I have to play another from local. This match-up I really like for me though. Villain supports is so slow with no surprises that I can speed through and control the money before it can become a danger. My opponent was just too concern on getting money when he should of tried to push damage. I built a killer board state with 3 healthy characters when he finally got a fist down (via Delve) just after his 4-LOM died.

Round 3 vs e4-LOM/GG/SM (WIN, 3-0)

This matchup went a bit different as I barely found any dice cards in my first 2 hands. I had to control very heavily and throw in some damage when I could. I got there in the end. This game really shows you the power of disrupt. I may of stole this game away as my opponent wanted to get max value on all his dice, which he lost on some damage and could of easily prevented me from controlling the battlefield.

Round 4 vs eChopper/R2/C3PO (LOSS, 3-1)

This was a rematch of my round 7 opponent from Worlds. Unfortunately, this game had a different outcome. He remembered my old plan of attack of always keeping him off money and getting in my licks when I can. Not much disrupting here as we ended up trading C3POs in Rd-2, followed by trading our yellow guys in Rd-3. We had a good ol' fashion R2-D2 fight, where his was better loaded but mine had a tad bit more healthier. This literally could of gone either way, but his ambush roll out hit 6 damage (including dagger) for a 7 HP hit to close the deal.

Round 5 vs eIden/eBeckett (WIN, 4-1)

Jesus, Iden is annoying. I was pretty happy to see this pairing doing well. I always felt that these 2 should work well (both being, imo, plus characters at 15pts each); however every-time I try them it just falls flat. Still not sure how they combat vs Aphra/4LOM big supports (maybe DM is just enough) but they have a pretty good matchup vs droids. It was a close game as I managed to get Iden down somewhat quickly, which meant my droid shenningans were back online.

Round 6 vs Chirpa/Hoth/Ewoksx3/PS (WIN, 5-1)

Once again, I got paired with another player from local scene. This pairing was definitely a sign of relief as win or lose, I was pretty sure we both would make the cut (based on who we had faced so far (all of our opponents were x-2 or better). He's been toying with the deck for some weeks here and there so I knew what to expect, though with Ewoks the tricks at this point are known. I went w/ the general 4LOM plan, disrupt and hit with what I can. Not sure if that was the right call vs Ewoks but it worked. I think I won with 2 life and 2 shields left.

At 5-1, I was guaranteed entry in the top 8. I never really think I can win it all until I make the cut, but I was feeling good with the deck as my only loss was mirror that tends to be swingy anyways. I felt even better once I found out my top 8 match was gift, mill.

TOP 8 vs. eYoda/eLeia/Astro (WIN 2-0)

Personally, I love mill. I was actually close to bringing it for this tournament, but I just couldn't knowing full well I can't simply dodge chopper. I never tested this matchup before but playing a ton of mill myself I know the basic do's and don'ts. Our first game was simply a disaster for mill. I ewok ambush to disrupt 2 and gain 2 money, followed by dropping a Chewie blaster that hits a 4r/1. Round 2 my hand opens with double instigate which allows me to finish off Leia at the start of that round. Game 2 was closer than expected. I go after Yoda this time, but once Rex's blaster hits the table -- it's essentially 6 unmitigateable damage every round. My opponent gets me down to 4 cards before death (somewhat impressive without hitting a full No Answer play).

TOP 4 vs eIden/eBeckett (LOSS 0-2)

Guess I felt fine after our swiss match, knowing that I can take down this pairing. I somehow forgot how annoying Iden can be. Game 1 started rough for me as I had to do a 4-card mulligan and still didn't like my starting hand. My opponent stopped my speed plays and roll fantastic for the matchup (not so much god roll, but more making my removal cards very clunky and/or bad). Game 1 started bad and don't believe I made it close. Game 2 went a little bit better; however I foolishly went after Beckett (as I felt getting the quick kill was more important). Took too long to get Beckett down, and Iden finished up the remains. Tough break, but my opponent made a great meta-call to slow down droids just enough to squeak out wins (he ends up going 6-0 in the top cut all vs droids, 2x Chopper and my Han).

Overall, with 23 single games over 2 tournaments (record: 11-3 in swiss and 5-4 in top cut if counting single games), I think the deck performed well. Can't really complain with 2 top cuts, especially in a field that large at Worlds. But in the end, I probably should of just played Chopper.
