Finished 5-2 after Swiss, pushed to 13 cause of a flaky start - weak SoS

Talking a bit about card choices

• I know I play a lot of single copies. I think most of them are situational - the ones that are 2x are the core of the deck pretty much.
• Decided on the single Wave over Obi's saber cause I expected to play a lot of 3 character lists. Did play 3 of such decks, but this was not a factor. Proved really good in testing tho.

Changes under test currently:

• Taking off the nerd herder for 2nd CQA potentially. NerfHerder is good to remove certain conditions but you might hit them anyways with the CQA.
• 2nd Maz's Googles, probably taking out the caution. Caution is good but I'd rather have more offensive consistency over the 3hp, and if you roll the 2 focus side it is probably going to be a godly turn for you.

THE MATCHES. Round 1. (1-0) Boba - Phasma Killed boba early, phasma did not roll hot after this

Round 1. (1-1) brOTK I got trashed this game. I did 6 damage on 7th and had a shields and an ancient on obi, and decided that probably he was not going to push enough damage with his current setup. oh man was I wrong. His last 2 cards were enrage and boundless ambition, followed by another enrage and leadership, and I think he added Price of Failure on his sister. He did 14 dmg to obi on his round 1, I conceded after that. Talking to my opponent after this, I am not sure I could have played that differently since there was no window for me to ancient heal before his die resolution. I could have given him the battlefield and got more hp, and maybe mulligan aggressively for NerfHerder to hit the BA. We played another game where I did that and it was super close (still lost tho). Overall a tough matchup, and a great player.

Round 3. (2-1) Boba - Phasma This time I had to kill Phasma early since she had the non redeploy upgrades on. I had 2 easy pickings on turns 1 and 2 to remove his Boba dies.

Round 4. (2-2) Hero Vehicles. I was able to get an early NerfHerder on a Rally aid and a hand full of vehicles which in retrospective was a big mistake - even if I would allow for some ramp I should have taken offline his Y-Wing since this deck generates resources anyways. By turn 3 he had every vehicle on play, rolled 2 Y Wing specials and my Obi was cold as ice this game (rolling shields and blanks 3 times in a row). Man I have never beaten this guy at our local store or in here, really solid :P

At this point I knew I had to win every single game and pray to RNGesus. Took the 15 mins to decompress and recover, got some Piroshky and then back to playing.

Round 5. (3-2) PoeHondo I think the single Maz's Vault is included just for hondo matchups. I got it early and I think he made a mistake putting both his shields on Hondo. In any case, the start was really bad for me, he rolled 2 hondo specials and his cunning special as well, and 1 range on poe, so i ended with 10 dmg on obi turn one. I did enough damage myself and killed poe round 2, and from there until round 5 hondo did absolutely 0 dmg because of the extra resources, me being able to pay for hondo and him not drawing his YWing or Poe's blasters - which were all within his last 10 cards. As soon as I saw the first poe blaster hit the table, a couple Hyperspace Jump turns sealed the deal for me.

Round 6. (4-2) Talzin V-Storm x 2 This was a really tough match and my favorite match of the day. I hit big rolls and was able to out Mother round 2 EVEN after he Rised Again on turn 1. From there I thought it would slip away since he managed to get enough shields on his heaviest armed trooper but a clutch vibroknife / RI play allowed me to kill it and smooth sail from there.

Round 7. (5-2) Rey2 Aayla My initial hand was 2x Force Speed, 2x RI, Vibroknife. When you draw this as Obi-Maz unless your deck fully betrays you on rolls you are going to win. It was a quick match, we played a 2nd one which I lost. Always go for Aayla first guys, she is squishier and gives the consistency the deck needs.

It was a fun tournament. Sadly I did not make cut but oh well :)
