This is a pretty straight forward Qui-Gon Jinn - Ataru Master deck. I prefer Kanan Jarrus - Rebel Jedi over Rey - Force Prodigy because he still allows for minor action cheating, and is a bit more stable in the mid to late game when Qui-Gon is getting close to death.

Upgrade wise, 2 of Ancient Lightsaber is definitely better than one but I only currently have access to one. That slot is currently filled by Makashi Training.

Note: Vibroknife can be very useful in this deck. This is just a rough outline, feel free to modify it to suit your play style.

One of Qui-gon's strongest combos is with Luke's Protection. You want to get that as early as possible to constantly be able to cycle one shield every turn. Fearless is great for this combo as well and makes Qui-Gon easily deal 2-3 damage without resolving any dice.

Example: Action 1 - Play Luke's Protection Action 2 - Play Fearless on Qui-Gon Action 3 - Use the action on Luke's Protection, gain 1 shield, place Protection on the top of your deck. Action 4 - Activate Qui-Gon, trigger Fearless, gain one shield, trigger Qui-Gon, draw one card (Luke's Protection) Action 5 - Play Luke's Protection Action 6 - Use the action on Luke's Protection, gain one shield, trigger Qui-Gon, place Protection on the top of your deck.

Note: Journals of Ben Kenobi is also very useful when combined with fearless, and Luke's Protection allowing for potentially three uses of one single Luke's Protection a turn.

This deck will most likely operate slower than your opponent's during the round, but what it lacks in burst damage, it makes up for with the slow burn. Caution, Rey's Lightsaber, and Shoto Lightsaber also help trigger Qui-Gon's ability to ping.

Kanan's ability can be very useful in this deck. You can declare an action, and use his ability to resolve a focus side in order to follow through with your action.

Example: Game state: Qui-Gon's dice are rolled out to 1 melee, and a blank, Kanan's are in the pool as well, showing 1 disrupt and 1 focus. Your opponent is showing 4 ranged damage on their dice. You have Synchronicity and Force Misdirection in hand.

Action 1- Announce you wish to play a card. Use Kanan's "before" ability to interrupt your action, and resolve his focus side. Turn Qui-Gon's blank to a shield, and now you could follow through with your original action, playing synchronicity -OR- Use Kanan's "before" ability to interrupt your action, and resolve his focus side. Turn Kanan's die showing 1 disrupt to the side showing 1 ranged, and play Force Misdirection to remove your opponent's dice showing ranged damage.

If Qui-Gon doesn't seem to be working for you, you can easily drop him for Rey - Finding The Ways. This offers you less over all burn, but you can then take out the Luke's Protection loop to focus on other things. In addition it only puts you at 28/30 of your character points, leaving 2 points open for potential Plots coming in Legacies.
