This deck is all about milling backed with dice mitigation and hand disruption.

It is simple in design and playablity. Use the myriad of events and supports to mitigate opposing damage & resources while forcing deck, hand and resource destruction. The characters have five total character dice (ideal for Unkar’s ability) and 25 total hit points.

CHARACTERS: Unkar Plutt - Junk Dealer is the center piece of the deck as his dice and ability provides the deck with all the basics (disruption and resource acquisition) it needs to function. Strong disrupt and resources sides (two faces each) make Imperial Inspection and Salvage Stand effects happen consistently. His ability both aids the mill aspect of the deck (discard) while potentially & simultaneously adding resources.

Bazine Netal - Master Manipulator's dice features disrupt, discard, resource and shields, a good control complement to Unkar. Her dice helps feed Imperial Inspection and Salvage Stand and the strong 2-shield side feeds well w/ Unkar’s ability. While her special is virtually irrelevant to the deck, it can be used to at least provide a resource via Hounds Tooth or provide some strong utility versus decks that make strong use of shields.

The inclusion of First Order Stormtrooper give the deck access to some key red cards (Imperial Inspection, Fall Back and The Best Defense...), 7 extra health for an opponent to go through, a die that lends itself well to Unkar’s ability (two sides with value of 2) and the range sides makes Loose Ends a cost-effective mill option.

LOCATION: The deck is slow and rarely claims. Since the focus of this deck is control and not damage, Medical Center - Kaliida Shoals is a battlefield of choice as the opposition benefiting from it's claim ability is unlikely. And if the opponent claims AND uses the battlefield's ability, you take first action.

UPGRADES: Personal Shield and Hunker Down are the only upgrades in the deck, and both serve the purpose of protecting the characters. Personal Shield’s die is also strong in conjunction w/ Unkar’s ability.

SUPPORTS: The deck relies on the supports to control the board each turn. Along with Imperial Inspection (upgrade and upgrade die mitigation) and Salvage Stand (resource removal), Interrogation Droids help provide consistent hand destruction. Hound's Tooth aides in resource production, shield generation and fueling Unkar’s ability.

EVENTS: Many events are included to mitigate damage (Electroshock, He Doesn't Like You, One-Quarter Portion). Fall Back can be the great equalizer, potentially eliminating a lot of dice damage from heavily-upgraded opposing characters. Also, with only four upgrades in this deck, Fall Back's effect will most certainly be one-sided. Friends in Low Places, Buy Out and Loose Ends are the cards that fuel the discard/mill engine. This deck is not resource intensive, thus the extra resources can be funneled into Buy Out.

OTHER NOTES: The deck started out having a couple of guns to ensure Loose Ends was always available and give the deck a potential to pick off a weaker character. However, the guns were just reroll fodder and I was never inclined to play one. Probe Droid was tried in the deck, but it was largely ineffective. I really wanted to like this card, but even for just one resource, there simply isn’t enough bang for the buck. Cable Launcher and Rend were under consideration for finding homes in the deck, however, without Fast Hands, Cable Launcher is just a bit too slow and very few situations came up where Rend was ever needed.

UPDATES: 10/14/2017: The Best Defense... replaced Persuade, allowing the First Order Stormtrooper to absorb and take critical damage away from Unkar or Bazine. The inclusion of The Best Defense has proven to be a quality one, especially in matchups versus other control decks (i.e. removing specials or other dice that fuels their control engine).

The deck has a high win rate (about 80%) and has won a pair of small tournaments at my local gaming shop (Comics Direct, Niceville FL).

Just a note about Medical Center - Kaliida Shoals, the opponent does not have to use the claim ability, which means if they claim, you do NOT go first, unless they choose to heal

All claim abilities are "may" abilities
